Women's History Month is a celebration of the women who strive, inspire, nurture and pour their energies into making something better for the women of today and the future daughters to come.
Women are the heart of the Liv Evon brand and the front of mind in our craftsmanship. We want the women who shop our brand to feel empowerment behind the exquisite pieces that celebrate resilience and creativity. I want to share just what inspired me to start the brand, how I want women to feel when they shop and what I hope my brand legacy becomes.
Liv Evon was built from childhood frolic and a love for earrings. For some reason I was always drawn to how much beauty they could bring to a look, plain or simple. The design intuition I had for the pieces I wore resonated with people I would meet or run into on the street.
I wanted to share my joy with them and create something that everyone could wear. I loved the art of accessorizing, but my skin was way too sensitive for most fashion jewelry on the market at the time, as most of it contained undisclosed metal allergens like nickel. I wanted to provide a space for people to shop, where they could find quality sensitive-skin friendly jewelry that was comfortable to wear in that it was nickel-free and also fun and versatile.
However, like many of Liv Evon collectors, I juggle still working a 9-5, a household, being a wife and mother, sister, daughter, and friend. When you have a vision for something you're excited about and that grows in demand, it can be hard to smoothly adjust your whole life through the transition.
Despite this, my passion for providing a sense of self-adornment and small moments for the women who shop my brand to celebrate self is what fuels my creativity and drive. I want people to shop the brand and feel uninhibited. I want them to escape and experiment with pieces freely, leaving the ideas of what styles/colors do and don't work for them at the door. I want people to shop with us feeling that there's always something new for them to try and adventure with - nothing's not for you.
For me, being a woman-owned business means standing in your strength and power as a woman to accomplish anything you put your mind to. It's a freedom of expression to lead and cultivate without barriers of false stereotypes or generalized ideas. I want the customers to feel the same way when they open their jewelry chest and select a Liv Evon piece to wear for the day.
