“Summ-er, summer, summer tiiime” – projects are brewing!
It’s been a full week since my first post, where I’ve been busy getting many other exciting things together to share with ya’ll – announcement coming soon!!
The weather’s been supremely hot this way - I only stay outdoors long enough to go to the store, scurry indoors and change into my PJs from noon to 8 am the next day 👋🏽 - Leo (pictured above) is a no-mess kind of guy when it comes to this heat, too.
With that, the projects have been on hiatus action-wise, a break my body probably needed from the go-go-go of the outdoor projects. Unfortunately, I’m no good at completely sitting down as I’ve been penciling projects into my to-do calendar for the day things ease up *fingers crossed*. My RECKLESS SHOPPING behavior for home furniture and décor deals has also spiked since being stuck indoors, a habit I've convinced myself is not a bad one as you need home furniture, decor, pretty trinkets, and a new pair of shoes, right?! It all happened to work out really well, thank God, because there were some great deals on outdoor patio/deck items - will share these finds in a future post!
With that, I wanted to share with you all the status of current projects my husband and I are working on, along with those we scheduled down the pipeline, below.

Current Projects
Outdoor
Grass - For those of ya’ll who’ve been following our journey know we did a big thing by stripping our backyard of vegetation (a nice word I like to use for weeds and ivy) and seeded it with beautiful, lovely, carpet-like grass! Will be one of my next blog posts.
Deck – We have a gorgeous deck in our backyard that looked like it went through a dust storm, so we re-stained it and are working on replacing some old worn out planks. Post to come for this as well!
Rock Border - We’re bougie and wanted a bit more luxury in the yard (lol) so we installed a rock border around our deck that just brightens the place up ya’ll. Post coming to a screen near you!
Front Yard Plants – I haven’t shared this yet, but I planted new front yard plants (the old ones were neglected before we bought the house). This one is for you current or aspiring Greenthumbers.

Outdoor
Backyard Border - Border the backyard with mulch/dirt/rock trim and add plants for an extra pop!
Patio – We’re going to install a paver or concrete patio off the deck where dirt currently resides.
Paver Walkway – Install a pathway to the front yard.
Outside Lights – Install landscaping lights in the backyard.
Decorate Backyard – Lastly for the yard, we DECORATE!!!! The thought of this makes me want to shimmy…the IDEAS ya’ll! Stay tuned 😊.
Interior
Bathrooms– They’re old and played out, enough said.
Office/Sewing Room - Turning a guestroom into a creative working space!
Living Room Furnishing – We have two living spaces and this 2nd one is super special in a great way!!!
Finish the Unfinished Basement – Install drywall, lighting, walls, maybe plumbing – yea, this is a “build it ground up” kind of project.
General maintenance - Homes fall apart eventually and need fixing (janky closet doors, window trimmings chewed on by the dog, hardwood floor touch-ups) - yea, we’ll cover all of that and more here, too 😊. This will be good stuff whether you're a current or new homeowner (so go ahead and bookmark this site in your search browser and subscribe too...it'll be healing to your soul as you navigate all those random things in your house you don't know what they are or how to maintain them, it will help you avoid super costly repairs...so just bookmark this site and subscribe!)
